VERSE I
Well purines come and purines go, that don’t mean too much to me
But one thing I know for sure is I sure to miss my Cytosine
She’s the one who makes me whole with an H bond in between
Thymine’s tried to fill her place, but you don’t know just what C means to me

CHORUS
Oh where’s my Cytosine, she’s dressed just like a pyrimidine
As she’s been since long ago
Only I can see her face, please help me DNA Polymerase
To reconstruct her so

VERSE II
Way back one day in a cell, I saw her in some nuclei
But one thing I know for sure is her structure is enough to make a grown base cry
And with her I used to share a bond so strong I won’t deny
Until we did replicate, then I saw her leave with some other Guanine guy

CHORUS

Guitar Solo

VERSE III
So while broken up I went to some nuclei again
I looked around and searched real hard, but I couldn’t find my lady friend
Until I glanced up by the door and saw a new strand coming in
I didn’t see my Cytosine, but I did locate her spitting image twin

CHORUS X 2
