Summer 2004
General Information
This year CCE is offering a number of courses for teachers and
informal science educators. Participants from throughout the U.S.
are welcome. The general information below applies to all courses.
Specific details for each course are provided in the sections that
follow.
Credit
All CCE courses provide undergraduate or graduate credit as a result
of state and federal funding. Graduate credit requires previous
completion of a bachelor’s degree from an accredited university/college.
Courses may be taken for a grade or pass/fail, but they may not
be audited. To receive full program benefits, participants must
actively participate in all components and satisfactorily meet all
course requirements, including completing a final project, using
course materials with target groups, and reporting results.
Application Procedure
Go to www.terrificscience.org/courses/applications/
to complete the online application or download a PDF or call (513)
727-3392. You may participate in more than one course. Terrific Science
does not discriminate on the basis of sex, race, color, religion,
national origin, disability, age, or sexual orientation.
A $45 application fee is required for each
Terrific Science course you apply for. You can apply online and pay
the fee with a credit card or print out the downloadable PDF application
and mail it in with a check payable to Miami University. If your application
is not accepted, the fee will be refunded. The fee will also be refunded
in the unlikely event that a course is canceled. If you must withdraw
from a course, $20 of the fee will be refunded if you notify Terrific
Science at least two weeks before the start of the course. After that,
the application fee is nonrefundable.
Deadline
The priority deadline for application is April 30, 2004. Early
applications are encouraged. Applications will be reviewed upon
receipt and applicants will be notified of their status by email
within two weeks of our receipt of the complete application and
