COURSE OVER
Make an impact on public health education by reaching teens
and their families. Become a part of this nationwide educational
partnership to improve the public’s understanding of
human health and the environmental factors that affect it.
We invite participation from organizations and groups from
around the country in the HealthRICH Partners Program.
Benefits of becoming a HealthRICH partner include the following:
full use of all the HealthRICH educational units, including
Lather Up!, The Skin You’re In, Safe Not Sorry,
and more
training in the use of the units for up to four of your
representatives
credit, stipend, travel minigrant for attendees
$3,000 in funds to support HealthRICH implementation
in your region includes funds for hosting the training workshop
and allocations for carrying out programs with young teens
and/or families

The training workshop will provide you with experience doing
the same hand-on activities you will subsequently share with
other leaders in your region. Content review, implementation
suggestions, ways of maximizing your impact, and other relevant
issues will be discussed.
To assist our partner organizations in efforts to impact
and prepare other leaders, the HealthRICH SEPA grant will
provide an allocation of $3,000 to be used towards outreach
implementation in partners’ home regions, including
hosting a training session for other leaders and events for
young teens and/or families before May 2005. Unit testing
and reporting of results are required as part of the course.
Training Workshop Benefits
tuition: All tuition and most fees provided
credit*: 3 semester hours of credit provided
stipend*: $150 stipend to cover out-of-pocket expenses
implementation minigrant: $3,000 per affiliate organization;
completion of a short standardized survey by event participants
and brief reporting by the minigrant recipient are required.
travel minigrant: up to $250 based on distance from Miami
University Middletown
course materials provided
food and housing: lunch provided; limited double-occupancy
rooms available for those outside the immediate area
* Credit and stipend awarded upon meeting all course requirements, including
completing a final project, using course materials with target groups, and reporting
results. Graduate credit requires previous completion of a bachelor's degree
from an accredited university/college.
